Resident 2008 - 2011

4/29/2011

So...my husband and I have lived in Sugarloaf since the summer of 2008. We were sick of living in Duluth and thought Lawrenceville was a little better. We got an AWESOME deal moving in...2BR/2BA with island in kitchen, washer & dryer on the 1st floor all for $850/month water/sewage. And thats the price of a one bedroom at Sugarloaf. Last year, the complex gave us a set water price of $45 b/c we live in a 2 bedroom and our water bill never exceeded $25 before this. Major FAIL. We've always had a problem with our air conditioning not being cold at all and through all the complaints and work orders, it was never fixed. We had mold issues in both bathrooms and we actually had a snake bite our dog after it found its way into our apartment! Maintenance came and got the baby snake after my husband killed it and the guy just stated that "sometimes these little critters just come in because you're on the 1st floor." Really???? Other than the ------ being the neighboring apartments Tanglewood and the kids sneaking into our pool and gym area, this complex is amazing. They switch out office staff just like you change your underwear but everyone is really helpful. We would renew our lease but after they tried to raise our rent over $100 we decided to move closer to the city and get out of Gwinnett. I would definitely recommend to others if you can ignore the small things. Beautiful scenery and awesome dog park.
