I worked there about 5 years ago and now I work here in Chicago for a rental company and I can tell you its completely different atmosphere. I have heard some talk about crime in that nieghborhood.
1) The only way it decreases is by calling the police each and every time you see something. The more you call, the more routine they come out.
2) Also ask them to increase security cameras and insist they have more than one cop living on the premises.
Crime is everywhere -- ESPECIALLY IN CHICAGO -- But weve done these things to decrease the traffic and its been working over here in my apartment buildings.
Also your not really locked into anything. You could sublet your apartment under your name if you choose. Just know that if they dont make the payment, its up to you do so.
NEVER STAY ANYWHERE your uncomfortable with but instead of whinning about it on this site looking for answers.. It may be time for you to talk things into your own hands. Its the same as leaving a job... How much complaining do you do until you take matters into your own hands.
Bridgemill was always kind to me. I worked under Judy and Rebecca and the atmosphere was pretty good compared to the office I run here in Chicago. All I can say is, Its gonna be different every where you go.
