This place is ok. The layout is great, the best I've seen for a one bedroom, and it is in a good safe area. The location right off I16 is really convenient. The parking is really nice here. There is always a spot very close to your apartment. The pool is nice, but often very crowded. I wish they had a hot tub! I have only had to use the laundry facility once, and it was kind of old and it took three rounds in the dryer for my clothes to dry. Take advantage of the hook ups in the apartment and buy or rent your own. It's worth the cost!
The gym is fantastic! I love how it isn't attached to the leasing office, it makes it feel a little more private and like a real gym. They just replaced a lot of the equipment, which wasn't old, but it's nice having new equipment. What bugs me though is the old equipment each had a personal tv that you could watch while exercising, but when they replaced it with the new equipment they don't each have their own tv anymore. There are tv's on the walls now, but you can't really hear them and watch what you want to without bugging someone else who is there too. The previous management company just replaced the floors with this great rubber type flooring that looked really easy to keep clean and sanitized, but for some reason when the new management came in they changed it to carpet. It looks nice, but I can't stand doing sit ups on the floor now because all I can imagine is there is so much sweat and germs living in that carpet. Yuck!
Don't let them fool you with the "hardwood floors" and "stainless steel appliances". We are in an upgraded apartment, and the appliances are all a stainless color plastic, not metal at all. They look ok and are easy to clean, but they are definitely NOT stainless steel. Also, the hardwood is a laminate, not real hardwood. The quality isn't bad or anything, I just don't like how deceptive they are when they describe these things. The walls look really nice when you move in, but because they are totally matte and not shiny, they are impossible to clean. If you take a wet washcloth and try wiping off a scuff the paint comes right off.
The new management is nice and courteous, but the old management went above and beyond! Every time I walked in, Brooker knew my name and apartment number, would ask about how my family and pets were doing, and was overall amazing. I wish they kept her :(
Not Carrington Squares fault, but the only option for cable and internet is Hargray, and they SUCK! The internet is really slow and they are very expensive! You can get TV from Dish and Direct tv, but just not internet.
Overall it's a good place to live, but with the new management things are becoming less impressive. Rent has gone up a lot, the keeping of the grounds isn't like it used to be, and the service isn't as good as it was with the previous management. We haven't moved out yet, but I have a bad feeling that the new management will try to nickel and dime residents when they move out. Once we move out I'll come back and update this and hopefully that will not be the case.
