Resident 2002 - 2003

12/15/2003

The complex is an older one which requires quite a bit of maintenance. It borders a swamp so bugs were a problem. Even with spraying there were roaches in the apartment that nicely complemented the spiders and other multi-legged legged critters that found there way in through the hole behind our refrigerator or numerous gaps caused by doors that did not close tightly. The appliances were rusty and outdated. The refrigerator ran constantly because the door did not seal well when closed and the dishwasher liked to leak just enough water so the kitchen floor could be mopped clean. There was also the black mold that found a home in the closet. My guess is that the gutters were clogged because every time it rained I could hear the water dripping inside the wall. Speaking of the walls, they must not be very thick in some places because normal conversations in other apartments could easily be heard. The grounds were a reflection of the apartments. The pavement is breaking apart in some places and pot holes can be found. There used to be a hot tub but it broke, filled with rain water and became a playpen for the many tadpoles that called it home. It was left this way with yellow caution tape around it for months until it was finally fixed by filling it in with concrete. There are many other detractions from the complex but this should be more than enough information to paint a good picture of Belcourt.
