Resident ā€¢ 2013 - 2015

8/31/2015

I have lived in this apartment complex for 2 years now and have to say that I am desperate to find a new place to live. It's hard to figure out where to begin. 1. My AC has gone out 6 times over this summer... 6!!! Now this warrants an emergency repair according to the apartment reps. However, I have to wait on average 3-4 days before anyone even bothers to show up. To top it off, I have had leaks and parts of my unit loose power all together. Their exact response was, "well the rest of your house is still working right? You can use those areas for now." 2. There is a horrendous pest issue within the buildings. I have had several neighbors tell me that they are being plagued with roaches, ants, millipedes, and some even had termite damage. Now one would think that since part of the monthly rent is paying for pest control, we would get these issues resolved. Only later did I find out that their version of pest control was some guy with a store bought bottle of pesticides walking around and spraying a door frame here and there. When I asked to see his license to administer pesticides, he said he left it at home. 3. The office staff seems completely incompetent. There was a Dropbox set up for those of us who have to work during normal office hours, which by the way is from 9 to 6 for their office, if your able to catch someone getting there on time and not taking a 2-3 hour lunch. Anyways, there was a drop box to deposit rent checks but now there isn't. Instead, a person has to either go on the weekend and hope that someone is there, or be late to work. 4. The rent keeps increasing without reason. I get that rent is not set in stone, but since I've moved in, my rent has gone up by about $100.00. 5. The unites are so poorly maintained. I have seen mold in cabinets, cabinet doors falling off hinges, stained carpets, and cracked tubs. None of these issues have ever been fixed despite the vast number of calls. Then to top it off, I had my cable guy come out because my internet just stopped working. As soon as he got to my door he told me the problem. Apparently, these apartments are so old that the electrical wires are becoming corroded. I was basically told that I could no longer have internet in my home unless I had the landlords authorize me paying an electrician to re-wire my unit. I could go on and on but the basic message is this. STAY AWAY FROM THE HAVERLY!!!!
