Resident 2005 - 2007

2/5/2007

I've lived here for about a year and a half, and I'm shocked and appaled at how little the management company cares about me.

1) I have been waiting on a new dishwasher rack for a year. Whenever I ask the rental office about it, I get the same response: "We're waiting for another dishwasher with good racks to break, and then you'll get those racks. Please be patient." What kind of service is that? How expensive can a dishwasher rack be? A YEAR, people. For a stupid dishwasher rack. And I've reminded them several times.

2) I once recieved a note on my door telling me that if I didn't pick up my package from the office, they'd throw it away at the end of the week. Except that I didn't know I had a package there. Whowever delivered it must have forgotten to leave a note. So they let a package sit there without a single reminder for TWO MONTHS. It was a time sensitive package - a recall part that needed to be replaced and SENT BACK by a certain date.

3) Recently, the latch on my fireplace floo broke and the entire apartment filled with smoke. All of my stuff reeks of smoke now, and the apartment complex will take no responsibility for cleaning the place, even though it was their latch that was faulty. Their excuse is that "they didn't know the latch was broken, so it's not their fault." How, exactly, are they "SUPPOSED" to know that the latch is broken? It's not like they made a point to have me check it, or do yearly inspections? Not even so much as an apology from the apartment manager, Tammy. She has shown no interest in keeping me happy since the day I moved in. Now I'm looking at paying $500 out of pocket on my renters insurance deductible to get the place cleaned up.

4) The previous reviewer was DEAD ON about the cable wiring issue. Whenever I talk to Boulder Ridge about this, they tell me to call Mediacom, but whenever I call Mediacom, they come out and it tests fine. Finally, after a YEAR of complaint calls to Mediacom, one of them noticed that a wire end needed to be replaced. Here's some news for you, Boulder Ridge: the wires are on YOUR property. You own the wires. You advirtise that you are cable ready, so be prepared to live up to that, even if it's not free to do so. I asked Tammy once if she would call someone out to check the wiring in my building, and she said that she can't because they would charge her for it. OF COURSE THEY WILL. Maintainence is not free! But my internet was dropping 20 times a day, and my cable would fuzz in and out. Boulder Ridge didn't care. They are the absolute laziest rental company I've ever dealt with.

Rent here at your own risk, but don't expect any help from the rental office.
