Resident 2005

12/16/2005

Do NOT rent here. I did a lot of research, or so I thought before I moved in. I went to so many different apartment complexes, but the 1 bedroom with a den floorplan won me over. Even though I could have rented much cheaper elsewhere, I figured this floorplan and the ammenities would make up for it. WRONG. I moved in in August and have been very unhappy from the day I did so. The condition of my apartment on move in day was horrible. The carpet is covered in stains and is so thin its as if you are walking on the concrete that is immediately under it. Thats right, no padding at all....just concrete. They repainted all of the cabinets in the bathroom white, which is great...if they would have cleaned the cabinets out beforehand. There is hair stuck in all the white paint in each cabinet, which is very gross. So I thought, ok well I guess they just didn't do a great cleaning job and it was ok because they gave me a $75 cleaning credit. Which, by the way, was not recorded and they wanted to charge me for that later. Since I've moved in I have discovered that whenever it rains, the carpet in my bedroom gets wet which leads me to believe that is the reason I have been sick so many times this year. Yes, wet carpet means there is probably mold in these old walls. If that isnt bad enough, let me share my newest problem with you. I have some storage bins in the corner of my living room and recently moved some of them to get out christmas decorations....I have come to find a hole in my wall that was not there before, that looks as if some type of animal created it for warmth. I am yet to find any animal in my apartment, but that hole didn't create itself! If this hasn't proven to you why you should look elsewhere there is always the noise issue as well. I can hear absolutely everything that goes on upstairs in the apartment above me. Every footstep, and as you can imagine, much worse. Parking is not great if you work the late hours I do, but that is the least of my complaints as you can notice. I planned on living here until I buy a house and now I cannot wait until I can move out. I have seen the problems some of you have had in breaking your leases which leads me to believe I will have to just stick it out until August. So, if I can prevent someone else from making the same mistake I feel obligated to do so.
