Just did a move in to Savoy and I'm big on reviews and honesty so I'll give the pros and cons about this property based on one week.
PROS -
The staff although overworked and super busy is AWESOME. Very caring and down to earth. The property manager Jessica is a jewel, Karen and Kristi both are a delight. Pleasant greetable faces. All very helpful. Jessica goes above and beyond at anything related to problem solving or issues. She's excellent at providing good customer service. Maintenance is prompt, the apartment grounds are beautiful and well kept, and the neighborhood is very safe and friendly. Gives you a subdivision feel. The apartment wasn't available until move-in just about but they delivered what they promised. Unlike a lot of apartments, the place was clean at move-in and as described. Spacious floor plans for the cost. Excellent area that offers plenty of shopping, dining, and family things to do. Beautiful swimming pool, workout facilities, and business center with very convenient access.
The good at this place outweighs the bad however, here are the cons.
CONS - Parking can be bad depending on where your unit is located on the grounds. Drive-way and garage is designed poorly. Very small and limited. They don't offer recycling bins on the grounds. Accepting the cable/internet option through them is a major hassle. You are provided no guidance and get minimal basic service that you have to set up yourself. You have to buy a wireless router if you have laptops in order for the internet to work, or pay $5/mnth for a Time Warner router. Although provided a point of contact for your services, he isn't really helpful or friendly. We're days in and still no cable or internet that we paid for with the expectation that it would be ready upon move-in. I think they should get rid of the mandatory "in-house" option. In addition, at no time are you able to reach the leasing agents outside of email. As beautiful and popular as this place is, they need a receptionist.
In hindsight, overall, this property compared to many is in the top best hands down in Overland Park. We LOVE the new place and the people! Stop here and look no further if you're into nice and good customer service with minimal issues.
