Compared to apartment complexes that I have lived in (Texas, Louisiana and California), Main Street Annex has been the most satisfying: The immediate businesses (Fresh Market, CVS, Bonefish, Zoe's, Community Coffee, SoHo Salon, cleaners, gym, etc.) are insanely convenient. I rarely have a need to drive anywhere, due to the fact that my dominant needs are met within a short walking distance.
The staff of ladies in the main office have proven to be professional, pleasant to deal with, and quick to respond to any phone call or correspondence that I have had thus far. I cannot recommend their individual services enough.
Regarding the physical property and/or actual apartment itself, the Annex is well-constructed with quality materials. All appliances are top-notch; the cabinets, countertops, flooring, crown molding, sinks, windows and doors are also made of quality stuff.
My only modest complaint about living here concerns our upstairs neighbors. They are two nymphomaniacs- The dude needs to buy a new bed. When they do have sex (late at night), it sounds like they do it in a shopping cart against the wall. F-ckers.
Otherwise, I do not hear much out of any other neighbors. Hands down, if you can afford to live here, I highly recommend it. It's the best property in Lafayette.
Rhetorically, you get what you pay for.
*Note- I have written the review above about the Mainstreet Apartments "Annex." The "Annex" is not identical to the rest of the Mainstreet Apartments. My buddy once lived in the opposite Mainstreet Apartments- I found his particular arrangement to be less desirable.
