Resident 2005 - 2009

2/22/2011

I loved The Clipper when I first moved in. I was on the water side, and the view of the docks was lovely. The walls were so thick between apartments that you'd never know there was anyone anywhere near you. Yes, the kitchen cabinets were tacky ugly '80s things with doors that fell off at will. The windows and doors leaked so badly that the apartment above me ruined my ceiling- as mine ruined my downstairs neighbor's. The maintenance crew was very nice and accomadating- except for the head of maintenace who was arrogant and rude. But at first, I loved being there. During the first few years there, there were many older folks living there who had been there for a long time. They were sweet and friendly and enjoyed watching tv in the laundry room while waiting for their clothes to be done. As time went on, the quality of the residents seemed to decline. There were young men all over the building, sometimes hanging around in the entryway. It was very intimidating walking past them. The television had a closed circuit station so that you could see the entranceway- but only if you subscribed to the local cable service. Several packages delivered to my front door were stolen by people in the building. The Building manager wasn't interested in that- or anything else, really. By the time I moved, it was really time to go. Six years ago I would have recommended The Clipper without reservation. Today I would recommend that you stay far away. There are plenty of choices in Quincy. Go somewhere else.
