Resident 2015

7/3/2015

Overall: Wish we could pack up and leave. The apartments are beautifully designed and there are many floor plans to choose from. To our disappointment our apartment was dirty upon move-in, half of our outlets do not work, appliances were dirty, missing parts, not functional (dishwasher was clogged, AC was broken for over a month, they don't change the air filter - ours was black and made us sick for the first 2 months - it was changed after many complaints, washer and dryer were broken upon move-in). This is a smoke free community, however the tenants here do not care and smoke in their homes, in the stairwells and around the complex. There is only one dumpster for the entire complex, many times overflowing. The walls and floors are very thin (they will tell you otherwise). We can hear the conversations of our neighbors easily and if you live below someone, you will hear their footsteps. Our neighbors run around and jump so hard our floor shakes. Management has attempted to control the smoking and noise situations, but it is proving to be a challenge to enforce when so many of the tenants are obviously very inconsiderate. The pool is only available when there is a lifeguard on watch. If you want to go very early in the morning before work or even in the late afternoon, it wont happen. Noise: The neighborhood is full of unsupervised children screaming, fighting, playing throughout the grounds. Yesterday I witnessed a group of kids bullying another - this is a common every day occurrence, this little boy threatened to call someone to shoot them. As a parent, I do not feel comfortable here. Also, the adults scream out their windows and doors as a primary means of communication with their children. No supervision. As I mentioned, you will be able to hear everything next door, if you are a light sleeper you will be unhappy. Grounds: This place is beautiful on the outside, but do not let it fool you at all. Safety: There is night security on the premises which is comforting. However, we have purchased a security bar for our door after someone (leasing office told us it was maintenance) used keys to unlock our door and come inside our apartment without knocking. Luckily, my mother in law was home...but now we do not feel safe. Maintenance: Nice yet they don't take situations seriously unless you repeatedly stress the importance or how it affects you. Still waiting on some parts they ordered for an appliance. *** I also do not like having maintenance in our home when we are not there, I would like some notice that they will be in my home!!!*** Staff: Professional and nice. Once there is an issue, good luck on reaching the office or having concerns addressed in a timely manner. The only time I've seen the staff handle things professional is when it came to signing the lease and getting their payment. After that, it feels like you are bothering them. Recently the staff accepted my mail package (without my knowledge), they never called me to let me know, I call the company the next day looking for my package thinking it was stolen and they said they left it at the leasing office. I went to pick it up, and they didn't even bother to apologize for not notifying me AND they told me to go home and come back later to get my package. Needs better standard operating procedures ASAP!!! These apartments absolutely do not reflect luxury living as they market it to be. It would not be wise to invest your money here.
