PLEASE DO NOT MOVE HERE!!!

I want to start off by saying that my first apartment was in Prince Georges County, MD-District Heights to be exact and my experience at Crofton Village was 10X as worse! I also want to dispute what the others are saying about the apartment manager. Anyone who manages such a terrible place to live is not a nice man. He does and says just enough to get by, collect his paycheck, and (I'm sure) go home and sleep SOMEWHERE else. The Latino woman is awful as well. She is unpleasant and lazy. She has allowed me to get my packages out of the closet myself which means I could have taken whatever I wanted. The writing was on the wall for me the first day but I moved in anyway because of the great price. You totally get what you pay for. And I would pay wayyyy more to be rid of this place. The carpet was stained in every room, the vinyl flooring in the kitchen and entry were stained w/ food and torn. I cannot believe I had to ask them to replace it. The toilet paper holder that I have asked to be fixed for 10 months is still sitting on the floor in my bathroom. The maintenance staff do not understand nor speak English. My toilet overflowed and it took 8 hours for someone to show up. The guy's excuse was that the phone number and address that came through to the pager from the answering service was incomplete and he didn't have the intelligence or decency to call them back and find out where the problem was! All he did was plunge the toilet. Never before that had I had a toilet overflow. It overflowed 5 months later. They never bothered to find out what the problem was. That time I was told they were busy and would not be available for more than 2 hours! I have to concur about the cigarette smoke. Not only do I have to walk through it to get into the building but my apartment is in front on terrace level, so I am unable to use my living room! I would have to endure the cold air coming in and the constant second hand smoke! The roaches are terrible. I saw the first one before I had barely moved in the apartment. The apartments idea of extermination was to put up the roach traps in every cabinet. It did not help. With the filthy neighbors who throw their trash down the stairwells, the cleaning staff who do not clean, and the laundry room that has overflowed a million times all over the carpet that has been there since the building was built, I can't say I'm surprises about the roaches. I'm surprised we all not all in the hospital from the mildew and mold spores. I had a package to be delivered and had to pick it up from the post office. On the box the postal worker had written that the package was unsafe to leave at the residence. I also came home one day to find that someone's package has been stolen from their front door and had left a note on the building door asking that it be returned. There are so many unauthorized tenants that if you do not get home by 5pm you will not get a decent parking space. Makes it very hard to get kids, personal belongings, etc inside. The noise, the empty cans and broken beer bottles that litter the grass and stairs, it's all just so unbareable. I can hear my upstairs neighbors using the bathroom (gross) and taking a shower. It is nearly impossible to use the laundry room. If you do get to use it and your clothes are finished washing, people will take them out and put them on top of the dirty washing machines to wash their clothes, even though the dryer are in use. I could keep going with the stories but why bother. This is my fourth apartment in 7 years and by far the worse. I even communicated my concerns with the management's corporate office and was told that since my first complaints were not in writing, they did not exist. They don't care. It makes no sense to even put in a service request because it will not get done. I have done so many times, in writing, stuff is still broken. They did just enough cosmetic fixes to make you like it until you move in. I cannot wait to make a beeline for the front door and never look back. Beware of rent that seems to good to be true because it is. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!!! ***UPDATE: About 30 Anne Arundel police officers raided an apartment that different people are in and out of all times of the day and night,(go figure) in the next building last night. Talk about unpleasant. Anyone is allowed to live at Crofton Village. No telling what will happen next!
