"Apartment Hunters Beware"
I have lived her for almost three years and for the most part I have had very few problems. But don't let the complex fool you. First and foremost lets address the gas bill problem. Because the complex is over 30 years old, the buildings are NOT set up to bill individual consumption. So in essence you will be paying for everyone else's gas. For the month of April 2004 the gas bill was $104.00 (for a 1 bedroom). This is no lie!!

The second issue was the air conditioner in the summer. One would think if it continuous breaks. . . replace it? Not at Larchdale Woods. Their motto is, lets keep 'trying' to fix it so we don't have to get a new one. My air conditioner has not worked properly since I moved here in 2001.

Another problem is the plumbing. My toilet was either clogged or broken every month. The pipes were broken or leaking onto the ground level apartments.

The overall upkeep of the apartment grounds and buildings was poor. The carpet in the hallways has never once been vacumed, swepted or shampooed in 3 years. The front glass of the building has not been cleaned once in 3 years. The front light to the building has been broken for about 2 months now. Also, 2 cars have been broken into & 1 has been vandalized (of which I have actually witnessed). If you plan on coming to the complex after 9pm, you will not find a parking space. Even you are a tenant.
So if you are looking into getting an apartment soon, you may want to choose very wisely, Larchdale Woods is not the ideal place to be.Share This Review
