Resident 2011 - 2013

2/21/2014

After two months, I have to edit this review...This is going to be much shorter than last time. There are still many good things about living here, but the scale has tipped for me and I'm likely leaving. Good: excellent value for the money to be so close to major arteries for this area. Quiet. Many residents are decent. Ok gym/clubhouse situation. Renovations making place look more current. Low utility bills (I live on the third floor). Key/secure entry for buildings. Ok parking situation most times. Very few times have I seen random litter. Community is good about putting trash in the bins. Washer and dryer in the apt. Nice that packages are left in leasing office. With manager-Sabrina two or three snows ago, I saw the entire team (from the manager down to the maintenance staff) out shoveling and salting. I was truly impressed by their teamwork and commitment. Bad: Entire maintenance team has left, very weird maintenance situation now; new guy seems ok, but is he doing it all on his own? Dog park went from great to so-so (broken gates). Renovations still not done, and balconies not as private. Unstable property manager (has switched three or four times). Parking situation has gone downhill for sure recently. Renovations taking too long and not properly announced. The entire transition to new management has been rough. There have been three managers since they transitioned (the previous manager was here for something like 20 years and was excellent), temporary ones: a blonde who I've long forgotten the name of, manager-Sabrina, and can't recall the name of the current one, she's been here for the last two months or so. Some things have been unintentionally broken during the renovations (holes in the wall, broken doors). They started charging for water...a roundabout way of raising the rent on everyone in my opinion. Gate issues continue. Indoor finishes in entryways and bathroom are not that great, although the kitchen is ok. Overall lackluster management team has stepped in after a pretty good management team has been removed.

So far so good. Maintenance is great. Management changed and it's been rocky, but it seems to getting more back to normal in the rental office. All of the broken exercise equipment has been fixed, and the buildings are being renovated (outdoors). Looks nice.
