As a long-time resident, I´ve seen various management eras. The problem with the current era, starting two years ago, is the focus on cost-cutting above all else.
Now perhaps the complex previously wasn´t managed to maximum fiscal efficiency--but they had a very high renewal rate.

These days they drive people out thanks to their unwillingness to make minor infrastructure investments. But the worst part is their attitude. Everyone, whether in their teens or in their 50´s, is treated as if they´re some punk who´s trying to pull a fast one on the complex.

It´s really insulting to have paid rent nearly 100 times, on time, and have a great big sign on the road saying "RENT IS DUE", then another one saying "RENT IS LATE". It´s tarring the vast majority who pay on time for the sins of the few who are late. And I can´t believe it impresses anyone who´s visiting the place, it conveys a really insulting attitude.
The pool and other amenities are nice. The cable TV (satellite system under a long-term contract) is horrible. They´ve been talking ever since I moved in about improving it or dumping it and going to the regular cable provider.

They *never* do anything about it, even though the cable company is in violation of their contract, which states they must provide service comparable to that of the local cable company and they don´t. I suspect someone´s getting a kickback somewhere. The previous management admitted that the cable TV alone drove out 20 people per year. That´s a ridiculous price to pay for a refusal to just dump the crappy cable system.
