Resident ā€¢ 2001 - 2002

I CanĀ“t Believe I Moved Here!!!!!!!!

This, by far, is the worst Apartment complex I have lived. I have lived in many areas in and around Detroit. The problem, I believe is the fact that there is not enough staff to accommodate such a large community. I have had sooooooo many problems. I have had to stay in a Hotel, I have had rent waived and reduced. I have had ceiling leaks, loud tenants, transferred apartments. I have had to wait weeks to get maintenance issues taken care of. The management staff is rude, sarcastic, ignorant and not very compasionate to your needs as a paying tenant. This angers me, especially since my rent is paid prior to the first of the month. I have begun my search for a new apartment and my lease does not terminate for another 6 months. I donĀ“t even want to live in Southfield anymore after living here at the projects. This nickname is truly appropriate. The hallways are trashy, the trash room is always stacked with trash which causes the hallway to smell. One day, I even received a late notice for my rent when that particular month the rent was waived due to the inconvenience of having to stay in a hotel due to renovations that should have been complete prior to my move in. Then after all of that, I had to transfer to another building. The new building is better, but what does that say. Although better, it reaks of "Good Times." We even had a tenants meeting and believe it or not, of all the problems and of all the many residents, approximately 25 people were in attendance. Many of the residents donĀ“t even care about how they are living.

I definitely do not recommend this complex to anyone that cares about appearance, smell, attitude of management and safety. This complex has the potential to be a premier community, however due to the lack of managerial skills, etc, it will never be.

The really funny thing is that Habitat, the company who owns Lexington, owns properties such as Riverfront, Lafayette Pavillion and may fine high rises in Chicago. Now you tell me, why does Lexington fall short?
