Resident 2009 - 2011

12/21/2011

I had an issue with trying to break my lease while I lived here. I inquired what I would need to have in order to break my lease due to a sudden job transfer. I was told that I would have to give 30 days notice, and it would start effective the date they got all necessary paperwork. Then I was told that if I gave my notice on the 15th, that my lease would end on the last day of the next month. I gave the appropriate break lease fee, and written notice as per the lease. I had my boss email the management and let them know that I got transferred as a result of a sudden transfer, and management fought me the whole way from then on out. They indicated that they needed official transfer papers on official company letterhead. When told this was unacceptable, she refused to take my notice as valid. Eventually, she did take my notice after arguing with my manager about the situation. So, after moving out partially, I received a call a few weeks later asking me how soon we would be able to get the rest of our stuff out because they had an interested renter. I told them I could do it that weekend. She said great, and we'll give you a portion of your rent back. So, I came up to get my stuff out, and then they ended up not renting out our apartment. Overall, the place itself was great. I never had complaints, and never had problems with neighbors. Other than the complex manager (asst mgr is great!), this place is awesome.
