Pros:
- Close to campus/Dinkytown
- Cheaper Rent in comparison to luxury student apartments
- Management responds quickly to emails
Cons:
- Particular building is not handicap accessible
(Not illegal since its an old building, but presents challenges for friends/family/prospective tenants with disabilities)
- There are loud parties, even on week nights.
(although not the fault of management - it is something to consider)
- Building frequently smells like pot
- General musty smell, possibly bad if you have asthma
- Doors in unit are very torn up, but typical for college housing
- The maintenance guy is friendly, but seems to lack skills in all areas of maintenance. It takes him an incredibly long time to fix anything. He arrives promptly, but can't ever seem to get the job done. He shows up without the necessary tools and almost always forgets them in our apartment. Most of the time the job isn't finished correctly. Example - blinds were hung, but are two different colors. Not the end of the world, but a tad annoying.
-The washer and dryers are pretty bad. I can't count how many times the water hasn't fully drained out of the washer or how many times my clothes aren't done after two times in the dryer. They seem to get fixed, but they break down often. Probably time for the management to get new ones.
The location is good, but it is overpriced for what you are getting.
