Beware of Stratford Wood getting you locked into a lease at a reasonable price, and then raising the rent over $100 dollars per lease renewal. Before signing a lease, I specifically asked Tina, Stratford's property manager, if they would be raising the rent "$100 dollars or more at the end of our lease". She assured us that that WOULD NOT happen and their current rent raise was about 5%. When I first rented the unit in 2011 the rent was $845, the following year they raised the rent to $950, and now this year they have raised the rent for a 2 bd 2 ba to $1090. I rented shortly after they purchased the property, so for two years I have been living in a construction zone, with many of the amenities I am paying for, not in working order. I rented one of the newly renovated units. 2 years later, the cheap carpet is TOTALLY worn out, the new linoleum floor has bubbled up all over the place, the drawers in the kitchen are made out of cheap plastic, our heat didn't work properly (stuck at 58 degrees or below) until the end of January, even though we had made them aware of the problem and maintenance had looked at it and said it was working properly. The elevator had to be worked on and was out of order for 2 months in the middle of winter, and our water (and sometimes gas) gets turned off all the time.
Through all of this the property management has been terrible to work with. They won't work with you period. They will give you the ph. # to their regional manager, who over the past two years hasn't returned one phone call... so basically there is nothing you can do but stick it out until your lease is up and then move.
Save yourself a big headache, tons of frustration and don't rent at Stratford Wood!
