Resident 2003 - 2008

9/21/2010

I lived here for a long time. It was mediocre at best. Unreliable service staff and unresponsive management led to lots of issues and their mishandling. My roommate spent 3 of these years I lived there on Chemo, and passed shortly after our Lease was up. We did not renew our lease because of 2 reasons; he was soon to do die, and we didn't want him to die in an apartment with a list of problems as long as my arm. Their refusal to acknowledge these things made for a trashy living environment and I was reprimanded at every opportunity I took to fix things on my own, as that was my career for most of my life - Property Maintenance and Restoration. Now I receive letters threatening with collection agencies for money I owe them. Apparently, over 2 years after we left (at the end of our Lease, with first and last month's rent) Me and my old roommate owe them over $1,700. Mind you, my roommate passed away, but that has not been reflected over the exchange through our emails. Nor have I been taken into consideration with my pleas for information. I have only received a lump sum of my owed monies, and no itemized list to show how I came to owe them this money. I lived there, in total, for almost 6 years. I had a great record, fixed my own problems (because they wouldn't), co-existed on a great level with my roommates, and never caused a problem. Also, the apartment's carpet and walls were in disarray when I moved in. Instead of taking my history into account, they waive threats of collection agencies at me for money that they DO NOT rightfully deserve, and they refuse to consider me, or the passing of my former roommate, and best-friend. I am appalled, and I do not recommend that anybody lives in their properties or gives them money, as I truly do not believe that they operate with proper business ethics. Also, during my last year - Every month the rent was increased a small amount. EVERY MONTH. Pay for what? Paper Thin Walls - 1 parking space, unless you want to brave the parking lot across the street where my car was once hit-and-run, 2nd time totalled, cigarette butt filled yard, poor lighting and regular vagrants digging through the dumpster and accosting young women in the only legal parking lot on the grounds on a regular basis, cheap building materials and fixtures in a structure that should be seriously checked out, disgusting washer/dryer room that seldom works and has clothes regularly stolen out of it, poor service, poor customer relationships, rude operators, and neighbors with outrageous antics, police involvement and an overall degenerate living environment? I won't pay for that. But there is a soda machine that is almost always full.
