I just went on March 23, 2015, as I do every month, to pay my next month's rent in person and get a receipt. I was told by Pat in the rental office that residents can no longer pay their rent in person, but instead must drop the check in the drop box outside and await a receipt to magically arrive at some later time, maybe. I asked why I should accept this procedure when I need a receipt right away. They blamed the corporate Drucker & Falk office and said they didn't know. How illogical is this? I'm standing right there with a valid check in my hand, asking for a receipt that literally takes only seconds for them to provide. Instead they want to send me away to the box outside, collect it later, and then create a receipt which they will have to deliver somehow. How do I know they won't later claim I paid late? How will I prove when I dropped off my rent check? Epic fail, Avalon Peaks. Dumb.
