Resident 2004 - 2005

8/14/2005

My husband and I originally intended to sign a lease agreement with another complex until we found apartmentratings.com in May of 2004. We had planned on living in a 2 bedroom 2.5 bath town homes in Beaver Creek Apartments. We were living in another state and did not plan to visit before moving and after reading some alarming reports we decided we'd rather be safe than sorry and choose a one bedroom apartment at Avalon Peaks. We never regretted our decision even once. We had friends who were living at The Meadows at Kildaire while we were both waiting for our houses to be built and they enjoyed their stay but had some problems with the office staff (especially at the end of their lease).

From the very first day in at Avalon Peaks, the staff went out of their way to accommodate us. The layout of the buildings made it feel more like a neighborhood than an apartment complex. There were no more than 8 apartments to each building. The other residents were wonderful. The grounds were always kept up. The office and maintenance staff was friendly and helpful. The screened-in porches and sizes of the bedrooms and living rooms, the pool, tennis court, laundry facilities and work-out room were perfect. Avalon Peaks is very dog friendly which was a requirement for us; they even have a small annual dog fest with venders and freebees. We "rented" the clubhouse on Christmas day and had 14 people for dinner there. My family stayed in the "guest suite" and loved it.

We moved into our new house about two months ago and are still singing Avalon Peaks' praises. We loved the location of Avalon Peaks in proximity to downtown Apex, shopping in Cary and US1. We received our final statement with a check for the amount of our deposit just a few weeks after we moved out!

We only have a few complaints: Media Works Cable stinks, the units are slightly overpriced (especially 3 bedroom), and the brick sided building on some units makes it difficult to keep rooms warm in the winter and cool in the summer.

Thanks Deborah, Charlotte and James for everything!
