Resident 2006

2/3/2006

First of all, this is a huge complex. Over 400 units. It is definately an older property, but is well maintained. They have done some things, like enclosing the patios into sunrooms, which helps with energy bills. The rooms are large, there is plenty of cabinet space in the kitchen, as well as a large laundry room/pantry--hookups for full sized washer and dryer. There is more than enough parking, and having had to fight every day for a spot where I used to live--believe me you don't know how great it is unless you don't have it. I have noticed dog poop around all the grassy areas. This is why lots and lots of apartments don't accept pets--because too many pet owners are irresponsible. I have noticed (3-4 times in six months)dogs running loose. I had thought that having "poop bag stations" available might help with the dog waste problem, but if somebody just comes home and lets their dog loose on the property, they probably have no intention of cleaning up after their dog anyway. I am kinda torn on this issue, because I do have a pet, and this is one of the few properties I found when I was looking that did NOT have a monthly pet fee, or overly exhorbitant deposits. I appreciate pet friendly properties, but I am as distressed as anyone else to have to deal with other peoples pet mess. It seems kind of unfair to blame the property management for irresponsible pet owners--I sure wouldn't prefer that they stopped allowing pets--The people complaining about pet waste would probably be unhappy if everyone's rent went up to hire a daily pooper scooping service.

The people in the office are very nice and friendly, professional, and quick to fix any problems.

I can hear my upstairs neighbors every step. It is loud enough to wake me in the middle of the night. Since the building I live in consists of only one bedroom units, it is only two people up there, and they are gone a good bit--if this were not the case I would not be able to stand it, and would have broken my lease. I can only imagine what it would be like to live underneath a couple of kids running around every evening--a nightmare.

The apartments are clean, spacious, ok value if you get in on a special, the parking is great, the property is very pet friendly, which is a mixed blessing. the acoustics are horrible, and when your lease ends, if you don't sign another one, they assess a fifty dollar per month penalty to continue on a month to month basis. They also require a 60 day notice, which I find odd, but they do tell you about it ahead of time. Makes it difficult to move without double renting.
