I've lived at the Chateau for five years now, and I think it's a pretty nice place to live. The maintenance guys are extremely attentive. The landlord is great. They only have 1 bedroom apts, so you don't have to deal with kids running around all the time, and most of the people that live here are grad students, so it's pretty quiet.
The only real downside is the exceedingly loud HVAC system, but it wasn't enough of an issue to make me move. Though, the kitchen is exceedingly small, and the bathroom isn't too spacious either.
The location is great as there are 3 bus lines that will take you to UNC, so you never have to wait too long to catch a bus, and parking is never an issue either.
I don't know why someone would say there isn't enough storage space, cause you get two bedroom closets and one is extremely deep and you can store tons in there.
The price is great though, the entire time I've lived here rent has been the same (it actually went down(!) after my first year), and everyone I've known that lived here (at least 5 others) had really positive experiences as well.
Also, I've never had any pest/insect issues at all. I think that might be more of an issue with ground floor apartments. Also, the staff is good with making sure maintenance is done regularly as well.
