I'm going to start this out by giving a compliment: the apartments are decent, neighbors are USUALLY not a problem, and there is enough parking.
However, the troubles that I have had with the new management is actually causing me to move out. Here is why: when I moved in the management that was here was not the best or the friendliest, but they were consistent. I always knew what to expect, and what was expected of me. I knew if I dropped a check or money order in the drop box, it was going to be collected and applied. The new management is a mess! In the past several months since they have taken over, I have been overcharged and found charges that don't make any sense (I can't for the life of me find out what they've been attributed to). On two occasions they have lost checks of mine and actually one of my parents when they had to help me out. Then recently when I was in the office talking to the assistant manager, I was sitting right in front of her as she spoke to another client and told them that for the past few months they haven't been charging concession fees, but this month they would start that. Well, due to having been laid off, the past two months my rent was late, and I did pay this concession fee! As well as amounts of money that come from nowhere (I keep my lease close at hand and check how much they charge me for everything) which when I ask them to explain it they try to change the subject on me, then finally acknowledged it and said they didn't know what I was charged for.
Also, my husband's life was threatened by my upstairs neighbor, due to a noise complaint that we were trying to take care of. When we discussed it with management they said that they would address it and call us when it was addressed, and then never called us. When we put in a maintenance request it takes weeks before they get to us, even though the maintenance supervisor lives right across the hall from us.
And it's not just me, the assistant manager laughingly told me that they had lost a check from another tenant as well, which had come straight from the bank through the tenant's billpay program. She has also told me on more than one occasion that on previous occasions they have actually found checks in the trash, because someone in the office has thrown them away. I know of one tenant who had his check cashed twice!
I would definitely not recommend them due to the inconsistency and incompetence of the management. If you feel like you will not need to deal with them, then this is a nice place to live. But I've gone from dealing with the previous management once in a full year, to dealing with them every month.
