The three positive comments in a row sound rehearsed and forced. Yes, some people might think Beech Lake is a utopia, but I haven´t met them. Without any disrespect to those raters, I think those comments are fake and might have been planted by employees.
<br><br> Since we do live in Durham, safety should be a top priority; it isn´t. Since the apartments are older, maintenance should be fast and responsive; it isn´t. Since there are obviously some severe problems with the complex, management should be proactive; it isn´t.
<br><br> Beech Lake isn´t a terrible place to live. It is relatively inexpensive and convenient to Duke, shopping, etc. However, things are far from wonderful. I would not live there if I were a single female. I would not live there if you could afford a more expensive place. I would find a different place if you are susceptible to mold, hate bugs, or are used to a very clean environment.
<br><br> As a male student, it´s right for me, but I lived in cramped dorm rooms for 4 years with the inviting combined smell of urine and beer in my hallway at all times.
