I moved into Carriage House Townhomes in the fall of 2003. Initially, all was well - - of course I did experience noisy neighbors, cockroaches in the apartment, broken appliances etc but the management worked diligently to get these issues remedied. As time went on, management changed over several times. It is my opinion that with each management change, the treatment and care for the residents declined as well. In February 2009, my apartment was burglarized by a resident of the neighboring building. The management had a nonchalant, uncaring way of handling my situation. They were only concerned with the state of the apartment and whether or not I planned to continue payment! They refused to let me out of my lease (that only had 3 months remaining) stating that a burglary was not a reason to breach my contract. I continued to pay out my lease but refused to stay there another day! To top it all off, they refused to give me my security deposit stating that I had breached my contract by moving out even though I had continued to pay my rent as expected! The price may be right and the size of the apartment is great but customer services is truly lacking.
