We have lived at Windtree for two years. At first, I would have recommended this complex to anyone. Recently, we have had a ton of problems with management and maitnence. When we renewed our lease, we weren't offered the resign gift and when I approached management about it, they told me they would call me when maintenance was coming to install our chosen upgrade. I went into the office three times to see what the status was on this and still have yet to hear anything about it. That was 7 months ago. Any calls or visits to the management office were unpleasant. They are rude, contisenting, and really could care less about you unless you are a prospective or new tenant. I arrived home one day to find that my alarm had been set off, only to find that maintenance had entered the apartment to change this filter. This came without any warning from the office that it had been scheduled. About a month later, I returned home to the same situation. Again it had been maintenance coming to spray which I was also not given any notice about from the office. Management at any rental propert is required to give you 24hrs advance notice before any maitnence work is done, which clearly wasn't happening. On top of that, both times my alarm was set off and I didn't not receive any calls from management to notify me that this had happened. Most recently, I arrived home from work to find that a break in had actually occurred. What's sad is that my first thought was not that I was in danger, but that maintenance had once again entered my apartment without my knowledge or consent. When the police showed up and were reviewing the scene, it seemed weird that there was already a board covering the window that the intruder had broke through to get in. When the office was questioned by the police about that, they told them that they had received a call from the neighbor that the window was broken and the alarm had been set. So they had maintence come over and cover the window with the board, without notifying me or any authorities that a possible break in had occured. Upon learning this, I called the leasing manager. The first thing she said to me was "I've been expecting your call." In this situation, shouldn't management have been trying to get a hold of me first? We opted out of the lease early because of the ongoing problems. I would not recommend this property to anyone. As a military spouse, my husband was deployed for the last 9 months we spent at Windtree. The entire time I felt unsafe and uneasy. This is not the apartment complex for you if you're looking for any feeling of security in your home.
