Bribery for high ratings on this website
Just FYI regarding the ratings on this website. I have not been unhappy living here so I am not here to bash the living conditions, but I certainly would not give it the high ratings that it is getting. The management company decided to give out target gift cards to people who gave the Landings five stars and great reviews on each criteria on apartmentratings.com. I am not sure if this is illegal, but it is certainly unethical. The low income residents of this apt. complex were easily pulled in as a gift card can buy a few days of groceries, diapers, etc. Now they are seeing a 25% increase in rent, probably because people rely so heavily on this site when choosing their new place. So, the Target gift card bribery was certainly smart from a business perspective, but I am going to give the Landings the lowest ratings possible to try to level the playing field. Just look back at all the perfect reviews and you will know something fishy is going on. This is a very decent place for the price to me, so do not let this deter you from living here. Just know that the ratings are inaccurate! After reading many reviews, I suppose I got one of the better buildings because I really am pretty happy here- as a student I can't afford much more. There are some good apartments for the price at the Landings; however, I have lived here for an extended period of time and have always been bothered by the Target deal. I should have written this review earlier. It is not terrible, but for a while there it was getting better ratings than many of the nicer complexes in the area. Sadly, I expect to see many low income residents evicted due to the increase in rent upon renewal.Share This Review
