Resident 1999 - 2001

6/4/2003

This is absolutely the worst place I have ever lived. Ever. The management aren´t concerned with keeping their resident´s happy because they know that there are plenty of college kids who can´t find anywhere else to live just waiting for an apartment to become vacant. My roommates and I arrived on our expected move-in date to find that the apartment was nowhere near ready. The carpet needed replacing, the walls needed painting, the floors were covered with garbage, and much more. What is even worse is that if our parents had not been there to help us speak to the management, I really don´t believe they would have worried about getting our apartment ready that day (one of the girls had come from across the state and her parents could only help her move that day). After we moved in, things seemed to be going alright, until the first weekend. That was when there was a huge party in our back yard. This pattern continued at least one weekend a month the entire time I lived there, and the management did not seem to care. Parking was atrocius, and there were only about 4 visitor spots for 5 buildings of 4 apartments and probably 60 residents just in our parking lot alone. Soundproofing between apartments was practically nonexistant, allowing us to hear our neighbors´ bass every night, regardless of what we were trying to do (sleep, maybe?). Maintenance was particularly incompetent. The second year we lived there, the air conditioner had some kind of problem where no matter how hard it worked the cold air didn´t get from outside the apartment to the inside of the apartment. Maintenance´s solution was to replace the thermostat inside the apartment, despite the fact that the air conditioner was working so hard that the hose from it to the apartment was covered with ice in 90 degree heat. They never did fix it, they just left us to deal with the outrageous power bills every month. Prior to this, they conveniently "lost" one of our rent checks, after we deposited it in the office rent drop slot as we had been told we could do over weekends. Then they wouldn´t even let us come look around the office for it to see if it had been misplaced there or anything, they just charged us a late fee. I wouldn´t live there again if my only other option were to crawl into a coffin with a decomposing body to find shelter.
