OK apartment
I lived here for 4 years while attending Pharmacy school. I didn't have a lot of time to look for an apartment so I decided to rent here. I guess I should have known it wasn't the greatest place to live when I moved in and someone stole my 24 pack of Mountain Dew that was holding the door open.

Seldin Company has owned the property the whole time I was here and am not sure who owned it before them, but I feel Seldin is trying hard to try and clean it up. I don't think I would have lived here before 2000 because it was pretty rough. I did have my car broken into once and they stole my personal CD player and sunglasses that were in the middle console and out of sight. My fiance has her car window broken and someone stole her in dash CD player. Someone also tried to break into my Blazer as they bent the window/doorfram on the driver door and the door behind the driver. I have seen other car windows smashed in while living here.

The thing that gets me is the people living here just don't seem to have any respect for any one and their property. They take no pride in living here. They litter, they slam the washer door, kick doors, etc...

With all that said it may sound like a terrable place to live but it isn't horrible. The office staff do try to make things right. I have had some maintance problems but the maintaince people have always been very good. Like I said before Seldin is trying to clean up the property. The buildings are old and do need work. They have slowing been replacing windows and doors. They keep the grass mowed very nice and they do have people vaccumm the hallways/stairs and also people on litter patrol. The parking is ok, many times there may not be a spot in the lot and you might have to park on the street. There are also a number of times Creighton Students park in the lot when classes are on. The lot is permit only and the tow truck does patrol but it seems they never tow anyone. You may also find people park like idiots, they have the hardest time making it between the lines also you may find yourself parked in.

The rent is resonable and is close to Creighton and saves on gas, but the added cost of fixing car windows etc... may off set it.

For the most part I felt safe but my fiance was somewhat nervous. If I was a single women I would be a little less likely to live here.

In summary: Kellom knolls is not a "luxuary" apartment and they never will be. The staff is trying to clean it up and I think more and more students are moving in and they are trying to get the trouble makers out. The first year I lived here and saw the police here and least 12 times and in the last year maybe 3 times. The rent is resonable, maintaince is good/timely, it is close to Creighton. I would recomend them but relize what type of community you will be living in.Share This Review
