Resident 2014 - 2015

4/6/2015

Don't move here. The new "handy man" likes to enter apartments whenever he feels, even when you're home. I have had two occasions while I've been home, hear a knock on the door and before I even get there he's entering with his own key's to check on some random thing and doesn't fix anything, worries me as to what's happening when I'm not home. The "newly remodeled kitchen" is a cheap counter top and cabinet set in a tiny galley kitchen. The bathroom is not remodeled and looks like it's from the 70's. Issues I have had have been brought up to the owner but he just makes excuses and talks down to his tenants. I've talked to other tenants who say the rent goes up every year with no actual improvements. The train station is in walking distance, but freight trains go by day and night, don't even think about trying to sleep with your windows open. It seems as if the owner catches you into a lease and by the end of the year you realize its time to move to somewhere else, the 1300 dollars gets you way more space in nicer areas in newer buildings. I'm waiting for my lease to expire and getting out. I wish I had done more research before signing my lease. The laundry room is always a mess and the machines are new, yet don't work well. Luckily there are laundromats in the area with better prices and better machines. Unless you can get a better rent deal and invest in a security camera to keep tabs on who's coming into your apartment when you're not home, don't move here.
