Resident 2013 - 2014

8/19/2014

We have lived here for almost a year and have been pretty happy. The apartments are pretty spacious and the bathrooms are huge. I love that they are pet friendly and have a washer & dryer in the units. However, lately there have been things going on that make us not want to renew our lease. The scorpion problem is ridiculous. While it has gotten better since Trinity took over, there is still a big issue. There is also a really bad water bug problem. It's almost a daily thing to come home and see a bunch of them running in and out of the dishwasher. On that note, the appliances are ancient. When we moved in they told us they were in the process of replacing all of the old appliances. That was almost a year ago and we haven't heard anything. Ours barely work (as in, my dishes are actually dirtier when they come out of the dishwasher than when they went in) and I can't seem to get an answer out of anyone on how I can get new appliances. It is impossible to reach anyone by phone. I start work before they open and don't get home until well after they close so phone calls are the only way I can do anything. If I do leave a message, it takes at least 2 days to get back to me. Once when I couldn't reach them by phone i decided to walk over to the office. When I walked in I saw one lady working with prospective residents while the other lady and the manager sat & listened to the phone ring. They also recently installed security gates to make the residents feel safer. Since the gates got 'up and running' on June 17th, I think I have had to use my key fob to get in maybe 3 times because they are never operational. They don't seem to care about it at all, but they have no problem charging us money and raising rent to pay for it. What's the point of spending all that money on gates that never work? Parking is pretty decent. There are usually enough parking spots. The only suggestions I have in that area would be to make all the spots covered and enforce their parking rules. **Update** I have now been waiting over a month for a response from them regarding a replacement dishwasher. After 2 follow-ups they still have not responded. Most mornings I come out of my apartment to find the entire area by my steps flooded with water that is gushing out of a hole in the ground. I guess we know why our water bill has gotten so high recently. I stopped at the office last week 30 minutes after they were supposed to open to let them know about the water and the place was empty and dark. I also called 5 times throughout the day Saturday and never got an answer. I was also unable to leave a voicemail because their mailbox was full. We recently got a letter saying that if we did not sign a new lease they would be raising our rent by $100/month, plus a $100/month 'month to month surcharge', plus $50/month for our dogs. Why would anyone ever sign a new lease with a complex that completely ignores every single request we have made in the last few months?
