Resident ā€¢ 2012

Very nice looking community, staff is nice, but when you actually look deep into it, this place is not so nice. We lived in Atlantic Point for a year and we were satisfied with this place and the management until they handled a pest problem very poorly. About 2 months before our lease was about to end, my cat (strictly indoor cat) wouldn't leave the kitchen and kept his eyes on the refrigerator. We heard some noise, but we did not really care, nor we did know why he was acting weird. One day, my mother was cooking in the kitchen and she discovered a mouse running in the house. Of course she freaked out and my cat chased the mouse. Thanks to the cat, we managed to catch the mouse. We thought that would be the end, but my cat would still act same in the kitchen. The following night, we discovered another mouse, but my cat picked it up with his mouth (the mouse wasn't dead yet) and he dropped it in the living room. We took a picture of it and reported to the management about the incident. They sent an exterminator after 2 or 3 days and he drilled multiple holes in the garage wall to insert some sort of liquid that was supposed to kill the mice. I did not understand why the exterminator was doing his job in the garage despite the fact that the pest problem occurred in the kitchen. We did tell the management that mouse came from under the refrigerator when we reported to the property manager. However, I assumed what the exterminator was doing this because the kitchen is close to the garage (he was nice guy though). That night, after the exterminator stopped by during the day, we found two more mice, and after that day, we found one dead in a bag of food inside of the kitchen cabinet. We found three mouse after the exterminator came to our house!! There were probably mice stuck between the walls after the exterminator put the liquid in the wall. I don't know if the exterminator was aware that dead animals can form maggots, flies, viruses and etc.. after long period of time between the wall. The exterminator came back 2 or 3 days after his first visit. We pointed out to him that we think there is a hole behind the refrigerator. Guess what we found? Another dead mouse underneath the refrigerator and the holes the mice used to come into our townhouse from our neighbors apartment. The exterminator quickly picked up the mouse and filled the hole with his tool. The incident occurred because our neighbor was a hoarder and their townhouse was very dirty. The manager said he would compensate us $200 (or $250 cant remember) after all this"exciting" experience from $2020/month townhouse. They didn't seem to care what kind of virus that the mice might have contained. We pretty much had to be the exterminators to kill the mice after that the "effective" extermination treatment. We were very upset about the incident and we only received $200....? We had to check my cat at the vet's office to make sure that he did not have any infection from having these mice in his mouth. We had to throw out the food that mice were found in. We are emotionally very unhappy after seeing the mice in our house. However, the management took $350 for a stain on the carpet from the security deposit. A stain must have been more dangerous than the mouse in the property. Getting a little money here and there like that must have led them to be the best and safe town house. I won't say anything about the carpet stain (but $350????) that my cat caused after he vomited (isn't the pet deposit supposed to cover that anyway?), but the company must be very satisfied after taking back the compensation money for the mice plus an extra $150. Just because people have not posted reviews regarding this rodent problem does not mean that it does not exist!! And do not write off people who experience these problems are dirty people either. In fact, we kept our home very clean and we would not have experience a pest problem at all if the building had been build better!!! Anyway, I think the pictures speak for themselves.

Your comments are absurd. I know which unit you were in and we sent in the exterminator twice in the first week? 23 days? Yeah ok. There are no other comments on here about mice lately so basically you're telling people that you are mad because we took $350 out of your security deposit because you stained the carpet. Its unfortunate people create stories due to their own actions but its ok. Everyone living here (we are completely full) knows the truth of how great it is to live here. We invite anyone visiting here to talk to residents who live here and get the truth. No mice problems here unless someone keeps their apartment dirty. Even then we treat the problem.
