Resident ā€¢ 2006 - 2007

I wish I had seen this site prior to moving but I didn't. I am not sure it would have stopped me from moving in or not but now that I have, below are my opinions with a hope that will help others decide. My rental "home" is the Tulip with 2 BTH and the little home office. The bedrooms are a very nice size and the bathrooms are quite nice and a good size. It is a great feature to have a driveway and garage (some bads listed below though) The way the stairway cuts into the living room gives the apartment charm and the "study" is a great little home office if you need one. The dining area is good size and the staff does try hard. Given the enormity of the complex, the landscaping is okay. I do not use any of the community amenities but I understand they are good While there is little acoustical noise (music, talking, TV, etc.), there is a large amount of impact noise (meaning thumping, banging, garage doors, etc.)from the adjoining apartments. There is a bit of a rodent problem - not sure what causes this as I never had this problem in any other apartment. There is also a slight insect problem (meaning ants, mosquitoes, etc.) The garage (at least the one I have) can only fit a compact car (no luxury car, SUV, truck, etc.)The driveway (mine anyway some are longer) can fit a luxury car but an SUV or truck would have trouble fitting (fortunately I have a compact car I keep in the garage and a luxury car I keep in the driveway. The kitchen is a bit inconvenient - the cabinets aren't very deep so does not fit something like a large dinner plate and there is little room to put extra cabinets and no storage space. The living room is pretty small and has only one wall since there is a fireplace (which really doesn't work very well) There are quite a few drafts, from under kitchen cabinets, windows and doors, and fireplace. Not that much storage space or wall space available overall and a definite moisture problem. Overall, it is okay. If you are an experienced apartment dweller you know that the most important things in an apartment are lots of storage, no noise, and good parking. If you are not experienced in apartment living, you will soon learn that these are the most important. It is difficult for me to say if I would recommend or not but based on the important things, I would have to say no even though I am kind of in the middle.

Thank you for your review. The problems we experience are common in any apartment complex. It's how we deal with them that sets us apart. The only thing I can really add is that we have more parking for our residents and their guests than any other apartment complex in Suffolk County.

Thanks again for your review.
