I just moved from Country Garden Apts. The experience living there was fine. The apts. were nice. The appliances were old, but they worked. It was the management that made my life a living hell. We had to come back from where we moved (spent over $400 in plane tickets) to inspect the apartment with the owner. He neglected to show up, so we inspected it with the maintenance man and the leasing manager. The only complaint was that the freezer was not properly defrosted nor was the oven adequately cleaned. Other than that, the leasing manager remarked that the apartment was in MUCH better condition than apts. are usually left in. Ok. TWO MONTHS LATER we received our security deposit. We were shorted $700 for the pet deposit that was to be refundable, screens (that the apts were going to replace when we moved in because of their condition, but never were), three mini blinds that were stored the entire time we lived there and pronounced fine, and $10 because the illustrious owners cannot add. We called the owner to discuss the items on the list of problems we received. After THREE WEEKS of calling when told to call back we have yet to talk with the owner. A check for the pet deposit was mailed to us with nothing else, no letter, no note, nothing. It is the most frustrating and belittling experience I have had. If you already live there, be careful when you move out. You need to keep on them or you will get screwed worse than I was. If you are looking to live there, I would keep looking.
