Goodbye Two Years Sour Grapes

Chapel Hill Towers of 1101-1111 Independence Ave. , Akron, OH 44310 . SHINY alligator walls - too many BAD paint jobs without repairs or preparation of any kind over 40 years. Noisy plumbing. Kitchens are furnished with recycled cabinets that have had lives in other apartments and put together to try to look like something fresh. Despite NEW carpet, we experienced kitchen drawers that fell on the floor and kitchen drawer fronts that completely came loose from the box. Our toilet was loose from the floor and made a noise against the next-door neighbor's wall with each seating. Scars are on walls from wallpaper that was not completely removed from 1968 when the building was constructed and no attempt has been made to smooth over such defects. Nice lobby areas are well kept but the lobby areas and all hallways are very much dated with old style furniture and funky wallpaper borders around each doorway. The hallway carpets are very OLD with ceiling lighting appropriate for a parking garage. The hallway walls have been stuccoed over earlier wallpaper decor. Noisy air conditioners and refrigerators. Though newer, these appliances are the most noisy ones that I have ever heard. The buyers should be fired. Maintenance does not know how to fix squat. Grandfathered maintenance team is so comfortable to not even use tape when painting elevator or emergency doors and continue to seem to place paint on the surrounding walls instead of only the doors. Apartments are painted in the same fashion without removing electrical outlet and switch plates. Layers and layers of paint are upon so many areas where it does not belong. Caulking is applied over and over again in kitchens and baths before removing the old funk. This requires paint remover and work! Repairs to walls where walls held pictures are not sanded - just painted over leaving elevated flaws on freshly painted walls. Maintenance does not first drill a hole to install anything - they simply RAM IN screws with their electric equipment and leave horrible burrs and scars in everything they do. Not in a hurry - just don't care..... There appears to be no person to EVER follow upon or check the quality of maintenance workers. Garbage is regularly removed and the hallways are kept clean and fresh with commercial system - air wicks. Parking is almost always easy. City bus service at front door. Grounds are well-kept - lovely. Our 2BR and 2BA apartment and balcony was ant infested - attracted by the disintegrated concrete balcony surface and breached brick mortar that attracts them. Disintegrating balconies need to be replaced. Exterior brick walls need tuck-point or Thompson Concrete Water Sealer as a least immediate help.
