Overall nice place
When my husband and I were married we looked all over Akron to live and decided on Hunt Club. The office staff was great. They made it a point to know our names and made us feel very welcomed. They even helped my husband with my surprise birthday party. The maintenance staff was prompt and helpful. The apartment was clean and pretty standard. It was a great bonus to have a wood burning fireplace. I didn't like the card system they had for the washer and dryer. You had to go down to the clubhouse and feed cash into a machine which would load your laundry card. However, washer/dryer hook-ups are available in a nice sized laundry room (good for storage). You could also rent a washer and dryer from the community. Noise was fine. The following are problems that can arise at any complex: The apartment above us had their alarm set for 9am everyday and must have gone on vacation. The first time I left a note on their door so they knew about the issue. The second time it happened I called the office and they took care of it. Ice was an issue in the winter. there was a period where it snowed and melted and then froze over and repeated this and Hunt Club couldn't/wouldn't maintain the parking spaces. My husband and I had to figure out how to dig our cars out of the frozen slush every morning---that was a pain I would never like to see again. It could have been due to the slant the parking lot was on. There was a hot tub, but I never saw it up and running. We also learned to always keep our door locked as the apartment above us had people who would forget to go the extra flight and would just walk into ours--you know when your coming out of the shower. These are the joys of renting. I did think the rent was a bit high for a standard 2 bedroom. But then again, I don't like spending my money.Share This Review
