The location of this place is fabulous. I don't think you can beat it, especially if you work downtown.
The walls are reasonably thick, but the doors are made of pasteboard. This is a problem for hallway noise and roommate noise (I can hear him chewing in the other room), but I'm rarely disturbed by hallway noise if I'm in bed. The building is also right next to railroad tracks, so it's not possible to sleep with your windows open. BUT, the walls are thick, so I never hear my next-door neighbors.
The gym is decent. I go there at least twice a week, and I can almost always get a machine. They seem to fix machines and replace towels in a timely fashion. People are courteous of each other.
I've never used the pool, but it does fill up quite early on weekends, or so my roommate has discovered.
The garage is covered and secure, which is fantastic, given the heat and cold.
I've found the staff very professional. They're highly responsive to any maintenance requests. Without exception, every problem has been addressed within 24 hours. This makes up for the fact that the fixtures and appliances aren't top-shelf.
I would and have recommended this complex to a friend. I've been quite satisfied living here, although I don't have much to compare it with. They do increase the rent every year and charge for things like pets and extra parking spots (as in a second spot for a 2BR, which is a little ridiculous). Such is life.
