Resident ā€¢ 2007 - 2008

4/1/2008

I moved into the cannery in mid 2007 (and out before 1 year was up), I had been warned that the population was young, transient and that it was a bit loud. I am from a big city so I can deal with about anything and was undaunted. The noise level is so preposterous that the stove rattled till past 2:00AM to the beat of the music from Therapy. Also, sitting in my living room, I could hear every word of my neighbor s conversations and even tell what channel he was watching; his TV was on the adjoining wall. Worst of all, somehow his bathroom vent and mine were joined and when his friends smoked it came into my apartment dude! The finish-out looks nice but the cabinets are so cheap the shelves bow under the weight of guess what dishes. Also, I was assured that the exterior windows would be washed in the spring/summer but this was lie. They had no intention of washing the windows. Last fall they had the equipment to do it as they were doing work on the exterior third story lights, but no interest in washing the windows as promised. This wouldn t be such a big deal unless, those are the only windows in the whole apartment and they are so caked with dirt that you can t see out. The parking situation is ridicules, absurd and a real disgrace. When I moved in I was assured that the new parking lot would be complete in 1 month. 6 months later the lot was not done. 8 months later it was finished but they didn t have the gates up so they wouldn t allow people to park there. Now let me see you are driving the businesses in the cannery (your building) out of business because there is now no where to park yet you have the parking lot complete and won t let people park there because you can t make money on it yet Wow! You SUCK! Also, obviously the gravel lot was for lease since the Office Supply company was able to acquire the spaces but I guess that you would rather have your tenants, clients of the salon, patrons of the restaurants towed away rather than consider leasing the lot for the cannery. (PS DO NOT PARK IN THE GRAVEL LOT, YOU WILL BE TOWED. The paper company leases the spaces to the Office Supply but the rest of the lot is leased to the Towing Company ergo, they tow it aggressively) The fire alarm goes off a lot TRUE; it was my experience that new neighbors down the hall set it off twice when they moved in and tried to disable the smoke detector in their apartments. The security officer knows this as he heard it straight from at least one tenant yet the management does nothing to inform incoming burn-outs not to do this as it will wake up the entire complex at 2:00AM. This is an extremely sad situation as the real estate has such potential that despite all these MAJOR problems it still stays relatively full all the time. Perhaps the owners should consider hiring a local Management Company that might take some interest in the property?? Look here it is, you could get people over 23 to stay and live in the building if they could get to sleep before 2:00AM, could reach someone who actually cared when they have a problem and could leave their car near the building long enough to take their groceries up with out getting towed.
