Resident 2013 - 2014

1/4/2014

When I was looking into coppertree for a potential place to live, I read the reviews on here and thought, "eh...it can't be THAT bad." DO NOT DO THE SAME. This is the biggest mistake of my life. I cry myself to sleep every night. They want $1800 for me to break the lease plus the remaining months rent. I am stuck here for the rest of the year. Here is a small list of issues: I am a young professional female, living alone. I was harassed and chased into my apartment building by men who linger at night in the un-lit parking lot. Now, I sprint from my car to the building and into my room in total panic every day. I'm so scared living here. I lock my door and put a chair in front of it every night before going to sleep. This is a very unsafe building. Coppertree will tell you your monthly rent, but they won't tell you that you need to add an additional $30 fee for paying online. If you want to park in the garage to help yourself from the gross men in the regular lot, add another $60. The laundry machine will constantly take your money. Whatever they tell you your rent is, add another $100 for the hidden fees they will not tell you about. My AC was broken for an month and a half in the hottest weeks of summer. My apartment was uninhabitable. I lived on couches during this time. I was forced to pay rent for the entire time I was unable to live there. The workers are weird. I went into the leasing office recently and one of the guys told me I smelled like alcohol and wanted to know what I was up to that night. Asking if I was drunk.....it was so weird. It was 6pm and I had come directly from work in a suit and heels.... All of the doors slam throughout the entire building. Loud slamming noises will keep you up all night. They turn off the water twice per month for an entire day. When it comes back on you have to let it run because it will be brown and smell like eggs. The laundry machines don't work. Expect your clothes to be soppy and wet after drying twice. I have to take my laundry to a laundromat in the area, lugging it from place to place. It is so miserable. They don't plow the roads leading in or shovel the sidewalks. You will fall. Your car will slide. I never get any of my mail. I had to redirect my mail to my parents house (an hour away). I pick it up once a month. This is the only way to ensure I receive mail. They brag about their fitness center but all of the machines are broken. The treadmills are just dark...the ellipticals don't turn on, and the stairs don't move. I can't even tell you all of the terrible things about this place. Just please don't live here. There are other places, please cross this off of your list. This is the first online review I have ever written....do not live here guys. I can't say it enough.
