I had several issues with water intrusion into my apartment. While this was annoying and frustrating I know things happen. As a former home owner I had my basement flood twice so I know things can happen. With this flood David and Nic met with me in the office and we went over the incidents. The first time they had a horrible carpet cleaning company come out and the second time they switched companies and they did a great job. They brought an excavator he came to my apartment, they trenched outside my building and then they had roofers fix guttering. They moved my stuff out of living room then sent a painter out to fix my walls and then the carpet place treated my carpet and had someone replace my padding. I went from a wet apartment to dry and back to normal in less than 48 hours. This was frustrating but I will tell you the truth it was a godsend. I know from the flood I had in my home I had to call several contractors then get several bids then I had problems with a contractor not fixing it right then I had billing issues and it took me over 2 weeks to fix everything in my home. It was a nightmare but this time as a renter I got to relax and they took care of it. Life happens and it's been two months since my flood and the rains have not seeped into my floor again. As a victim of a flood as a home owner and as a renter, let me tell you, renting was relaxing. Things break and catastrophe happens but it's how it was handled. After the heavy rains I guess one apartment flooded last week and I know a few places in town did, the office called me to ask if everything was ok. My flood repair in my house cost me $6400 in loss property, repairs, contractors and time. The flood I had here cost me nothing. Because they acted so quickly and had an orchestra of good contractors come out that surely cost them thousands, I lost no belongings. I want to thank the staff for making such a horrible experience into a manageable experience. I'd so much rather Dover Farms deal with it then when I owned a home and had to deal with it. I would recommend them to friends or family. Really I could have came on here and ranted that I had a flood but comparing my experience as a former home owner to being a renter here, I'm happy that it was taken care of. I'd rather sunbath, watch the news, wor or spend time with family than to deal with contractors. When people ask me why I rent and what my apartment is like, I use this example to show how much easier my life was under similar scenarios but one I had to fix and another Dover had to fix.
