Resident 2012 - 2013

3/13/2013

I lived here for around 8 months, in a one bedroom by myself. Having just moved to Portland, this was a huge space (but pricey). The area was close to gas, grocery stores, entertainment, movie theater, salon, and food. If you want to live in Beaverton, this is a great complex. If you want to live in Portland, you're farrrr away. Cons: My apartment was RIGHT on Scholls-Ferry, meaning the noise was constant. Of course I got used to it, like everyone said I would. Never heard the neighbors though, which is the noise that bothers me and interrupts sleep. If you move here, I advise to rent an apartment in the part of the complex that isn't on the street. It's not that bad, but if you can avoid it...do it! Also, parking. Paying for parking is not all that fun. You can find spots, but it's just unreliable. Depending on the day or time there can be spots galore or you have to park across the street. I don't like the guessing game, so paid for a covered spot right outside my unit. Money well spent...I guess. In combination with utilities (garbage, insurance, PGE, water, etc) it was expensive to live here. But get a spot anyways. PROS: I liked the staff, they were very friendly and helpful. They answered my questions, made sure my packages were delivered, explained bills and charges to me, and I never got attitude from any of them. The maintenance staff was AMAZING. I called to get a lot of random things fixed and I would call before work in the morning and by the time I got home they were completed. Friendly notes were left to explain what they did or what the problem was. My apartment itself had new appliances, was completely clean (and stayed that way) and I never had any problems with bugs or mold or anything negative. It was spacious and visitors complimented me on my fireplace, kitchen, deck, and overall look of the place. Friendly neighbors and cute dogs everywhere, I wish this apartment was available on the other side of the river. I know there are a lot of negative reviews but I had a very positive experience here. Was sad to leave but the commute got too much for my car! I think they must have made a lot of changes in the right direction over the years and if you want to live in Beaverton (and don't mind the travel annoyance of Scholls-Ferry) I recommend renting here!
