Resident 2014

10/27/2014

My boyfriend and I moved in almost three months ago and have enjoyed our time living here at North Ridge Apartments so far. I'm only giving them 4-stars even though my cons list below is much longer than the pros just because we are very happy here, but there are better places out there that provide more for your money. We also feel like they are better than many complexes, just still think they have things to improve on :) Pros: - Layout of the apartment is great. Open space, large (wonderful) kitchen, great size bathtub, closet space in the master bedroom is great, master bedroom size is decent as well - Office staff, maintenance staff, basically anybody who works here is extremely polite, helpful and great - Clean complex as a whole, friendly vibe Cons: - No ceiling lights in either master or spare bedroom...something that I just find strange. We bought floor lamps and the lighting is alright, but I definitely wish there were ceiling lights and fans --- and floor lamps aren't cheap if you're not waiting for clearance/sales, so know there's an extra expense when you move in - We hear the people who live above us quite often, even when they are just walking around - A pet peeve of mine while being here has been that we can hear the bathroom fan of either the people above or below us, and for some reason they like to use the fan A LOT, for very long periods of time - We "pay" for parking...might as well just increase rent by $15 and take that off as a "fee" - We had to pay a pet deposit AND a month pet rent --- I know this is somewhat typical, but other apartment complexes I've lived in have not required the monthly fee so I think it's a bit much, especially when we just have a small cat who has never had any accidents - Rent is quite expensive for not having any additional amenities like a gym or pool --- if there were other complexes very close to this area, then we probably would have found something cheaper --- I was paying just under $900 for a place in Tigard that I would say was better in many ways, but I had to move closer to a job I got and this was the place that was best Overall I'm very happy here, and am glad we moved in. The staff treats renters very well and I do not foresee any problems that they wouldn't try to help solve. We do not plan on being here for more than a year or two, it is a good temporary place while looking for a house. We would recommend this place, just know it's a bit expensive...but so are many other places out there :)
