First of all, beware the comment by "Anonymous...jaybird" The manager's name is Jay, so I wouldn't be surprised if that is more than a coincidence. And if that's his solution for addressing a comment on a website like this, then he is clearly not a good business man.

OK, the pros: The place is very convenient to town, shopping, bus routes, and the T. The pool is relatively well taken care of, although wasps have been a problem recently, a problem that management hasn't been quick to resolve. The place is fairly well kempt, clean, scenic, it's in a nice, safe part of town and is now high-speed internet accessible (someone had addressed this in a previous review). The pool is clean and well taken care of, and they just redid the tennis courts and basketball/volleyball court. The units can easily be furnished into a very nice apartment. During the winter they are very good about plowing the streets throughout the complex. The rent is reasonable and includes gas heat, and all the units have central air, for which the electric bills are not outrageously high. The apartments are well insulated. My experience with maintenance is iffy. They will come out and fix things rather shortly, but it's usually a "quick fix" focused on finding a temporary solution rather than solving the problem at its root. There are some immigrants, but most of them seem to live in CP in Greentree now. There are some very nice professional young people, grad students, and families here but the place has its share of trash too. But, overall, it is a fairly young, professional, friendly community and the dwelling isn't bad for the money.

The CONS: MANAGEMENT, MANAGEMENT, MANAGEMENT. They're all creeps. They have a notorious reputation throughout the complex and on various rental websites and publications for saying one thing and doing another. Bottom line: DO NOT TRUST ANYTHING THAT THE MANAGEMENT STAFF TELLS YOU, AND MAKE SURE EVERYTHING THEY DO PROMISE YOU IS IN WRITING. They've "lost" my rent check on a couple of occassions and then came back and told me I never paid and held me responsible for a late fee. If you're just a couple of days late with the rent, even if you tell them ahead of time due to an extenuating circumstance, they will not accept a check and will send you letters threatening to send you to court. I'm not talking weeks here, I'm talking a couple of days. The walls are pretty thin and this can be a problem especially if you live on the lower level. You can everything that your upstairs neighbors do. Just hope you don't have a neighbor that has small kids (like mine) or is a party animal. One time the maintenance staff changed the locks on the front door of the building and didn't bother to give anyone new keys or inform anyone they were doing this. If you lock yourself out, forget it, you're screwed. They have laundry facilities but don't plan on doing large loads, you're better off going to a laundromat, the dryers aren't very good, and I have had clothes stolen. The prices are $1 to wash and $1 to dry per load, and I usually have to run the dryer twice. Also, they charge $5 for guest passes for the pool. So basically, if you're a tenant, you have to pay for any guests of yours to come and use the pool in an apartment complex that you already pay good money to live at. It's all about the money to them, they have no regard for tenants needs. One reviewer complained about bugs. I have this problem also but I attribute it more to being on the terrace level near the woods rather than it being an actual consistent problem. I lived in an upper level apartment before in the same complex and never had a problem with bugs. They're basically one SMALL step above slum lords. My overall experience with the cronies in the management office is that they will do the BARE MINIMUM to address tennants' problems and care little about what the tenants need, it's a business, a shady one, and they are ALL ABOUT THE MONEY. Also, they WILL raise the rent on you every year. This place is pretty old and looks it. The windows are old and need replaced, and the kitchen cabinetry is very outdated. There are also no dishwashers. The balcony railings are rusty. I asked for a new screen on my front window two months ago and have yet to receive one. This COULD be a VERY nice complex, but instead it wallows in mediocrity because management refuses to be professional about things and change their attitude towards the tenants and make a very small investment in fixing a few things wrong with the complex, such as better windows, dryers, etc.
