I decided against renting at Place One after speaking with residents-residents of all ages and both male and female. Also, I drove to, and sat in the parking lots to see how bad evening parking really was. It is really terrible after 7:30-8 PM except in the summer when, I guess people are on vacation. Only the far perimeter spaces are available after 10 and I did check the side and back lots, too.
A common complaint was the popcorn ceiling in the apartment which produces vast amounts of constant dust. Such ceilings often are asbestos in buildings of this age.
One tenant said she was given new bathroom sinks that were cheap plastic and everything stained them. many tenants said it took maintenance 3 times to fix something correctly but all felt that the building supervisor was responsible for that. New tenants, it was assumed, were getting updated kitchens but but those already living there were told they would have to pay $75/month for same.
Everyone loved the doormen but felt there should be 2 available until 8 PM at least.
If you are a day late with rent you are charged a whopping 10% regardless how long you have lived there. Other apartments charge a flat fee of $25-$50 and will work with you. The manager, ------ and the company, Morgan was said to be "heartless".
Many other inconveniences were mentioned and something about not installing the gfci breakers the inspectors said would be done 2 years ago. My present apartment put them in then. Many complaints about very high electric bills.
Anyway too many negatives for me.
