Resident 2003

10/17/2003

Lived here for one year, this is what I think.......

Apt L-108 from June ´02 to June ´03.

First of all the person who said the cops were in and out all the time is flat out lying, In one year I saw the cops once. It´s a very safe, nice area with two churches next door and the county building and elementary school are across the street. The staff is very friendly and gave me the impression that they care about their job (hard to find!). Another person said the rent was high for the area because the area is generally cheap....WHAT!!!??? Bucks county is the second most expensive county in PA! Quakertown has a very high cost of living compared to everything north of it (Coopersburg, entire Lehigh Valley, etc.) and comparable to everything south of it (lower Bucks, MONTCO, etc.).

Apartment: My two bedroom was decent, the living room and eat-in kitchen were average sized along with the bedroom, the master bedroom was huge and the bathroom was small. My only problem was with the building, its old and breaking. A pipe behind the wall in my closet burst and the water came through the wall and soaked everything in it. Maintenence came immediately and fixed it but that doesnt change the fact that my stuff was soaked. I called the managers office about my ruined possesions and the woman actually flat-out said to me "the building is not our responsibility" you should have renters insurance. Ok, my fault for not having renters insurance but that is a completely assinine statement by her. Once ants started crawling out of the hole the shower rod came out of, MILLIONS of them. They did send exterminators for us but what finally solved the problem was I poured drano into the hole. Two maintenence problems for one year is not bad, I mean there is no such thing as a perfect apartment. Snow removal in parking lot and sidewalks is excellant, so is yard maintenance.

Overall Its a good place to live, I would live there again without hesitation. For someone with small kids it would be great (I am childless) it has a pool, park nextdoor, and school right there. Pizza and seafood places and 7-11 as close as can be.
