Verified Resident 2007 - 2014

The upkeep of the buildings and apartments could be a lot better, especially areas such as windows and doors. The buildings are aging and are in disrepair in certain areas and need some modernization. And when repairs are done, it is usually done as cheaply as possible, but the apartment rates increase almost yearly. Everything else depreciates with time as it is used, yet these older buildings are increasing in price. With all the energy saving credits available these days, it seems like more energy saving repairs/improvements could be made, for example, winterizing or replacing windows and doors (a huge problem, especially in the winter); it is expensive to heat or keep apartment at a reasonable temperature range. Also a few years ago, the upper level balconies started to be replaced with 2x4 (or thereabouts) boards, instead of the plywood sheeting, covered by a carpet. This now makes it difficult for the people living on the ground floor to even use their back patios, namely in the rain as the rain drips down from above (snow also collects and then drips down for days/weeks at a time, as it melts. This was a HORRIBLE renovation and probably was not thought out to consider ALL residents. Overall, it is a very nice area, low crime, the people are generally friendly as is the maintenance/office staff but do not feel it is a great value for the price considering the size and maintenance.
