Hi, i am a single lady, living in this building for the past 3 months. The security situation has appeared a huge concern. Lots of weird people around the building and in the stairway, one of the building doors was broken like forever, drunkards fooling around on the hallway and sleeping in the laundry room. I am hoping to get off the lease as soon as possible. Do you know any way to approach this'

I live in the apartment building behind Castle and I totally understand. I look out of my back window and have men urinating, prostitutes getting beat up by their pimps, teenagers drinking and doing drugs. Have you tried contacting Weidner? I honestly don't think that will do any good as they are only concerned with their bottom line. I have thougha bout contacting local media. I think they may be interested in the story since folks around Anchorage seem to be getting fed up with crime running rampant around Anchorage. I know for a fact that nemerous people have complained to Weidner about the problems at Castle and nothing has been done. I guarantee you Weidner will start to care if local media gets a hold of this story!

If you feel your life is being threatened and you feel unsafe you should be able to get out of your lease. You should talk to Weidner about it. See if they can tranfer you to one of their other properties if not, you should be able to buy out of your contract. Believe it or not, I'm sure the people that work there dislike the troublemakers just as much as you do. Truth is its bad for business but there's only so much they can do. They're paid to rent apartments not to control all the drunk people in Alaska. The media isnt going to do you any good, you need to contact the local police if there is illegal activity going on.

Castle is best place for those venturesome people who want to peak in someone's life regularly. Go take a few walks in the isles of each floor and you will hear weired stuff, some kids here and there, but mostly Engineers and Designers working for VECO, now CH2M Hill, all oil and gas type, if u know what I mean. Get Indulged and you will be happy in that Bear Tooth Cinema. Have a pizza while watching movie, and you will remember it for a long time.
