(Download a copy of Alaska Statues and familiarize you civil and renter rights esp. quiet hours.) Before moving in ask for vacating (cleaning) requirements to guide you when you move in and compare apartment conditions at that time, you may be surprised what is required to move out, i.e., wipe the walls with a damp cloth and check soot; Opted with furnished apartment pay $50 more: couch and love seat fabric stained and material itchy and back cushions sewed to frame thus not washable; requested single bed upgrades form older to newer and it was granted (a plus) carpet with cigarette burns and stains; Laundry facilities adequate, tokens required (17 EA for $20.00; Noise (esp. children jumping and stomping on the wooden floors) easily vibrates through apartments wooden structure is annoying especially during sleep hours, and unless directly above or below you, may be hard to locate and call in complaint; Be aware that social-economically lower class people who would not normally be able to pay this high rent can qualify via HUD/state rent subsidizing program thus POSSIBLY (and in my experience) lower your quality of life through antisocial behavior (no respect, noise, drunk parties, cannabis use, trash, cursing in hallways, stomping on floor, fights and loud arguments, kids intentionally scratching cars, etc.) Apartment staff will respond to complaints by calling perpetrator and visiting the site but response time may vary as they may live on outskirts of Fairbanks; With more than 20 hours of daylight during the summertime parties and noise in apartment are prevalent especially on balconies; smokers tend to throw cigarettes butts over railing so by spring there is a sea of cigarettes butts on lawn; if your apartment borders Wedgwood Resort expect outside balcony party noise well into dawn or morning (call the Wedgewood Resort security to shut them down) from national / foreign military personnel and misc. business people visiting the area. Nuff said.
